Event Details

Topic:  Acquisition and the tools used for Project Management

Synopsis: This presentation will cover the Environmental and Energy Systems Technical Center and its Project Management Tools. Clay will discuss the basic Volpe Center and Technical Center management structure and several of the Technical Center’s main projects and highlight some of the main Project Management Tools and the Acquisitions process used to provide technical and analytical support on transportation-related environmental issues and on transportation’s role in achieving energy independence, both as a consumer of energy and as a critical element in the energy supply chain.


Speaker: Clay N. Reherman, PMP is a General Engineer and is the Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative (COTR) for the Environmental Measurement and Modeling Division in the Environmental and Energy Systems Technical Center. Mr. Reherman has over 11 years’ experience working with the Federal Aviation Administration, Federal Highway Administration, National Park Service, NASA, State DOT's, and private firms on transportation emissions measurement and modeling programs, in particular aviation noise measurement. Clay holds a Master of Science Degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Boston University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Louisville. He began his career at the Volpe Center in 2000 as a coop. Mr. Reherman has been a Project Manager since 2008.

Attendees should plan to arrive by 7:15 AM the morning of the meeting to allow enough time to process through security.
